The Alamaya Foundation was established in 2002 with a view to support neurobiological research in schizophrenia. Its mission lies in financing the projects conducted at the Unit for Research in Schizophrenia (URS), in Lausanne (Switzerland).

The URS works towards possible methods allowing an early diagnosis of the disease and hence the development of new therapeutic means as well as preventive measures.

Scientific trials undertaken by the URS are also likely to lead to relevant progress in the treatment of other psychiatric diseases - such as autism, depression and bipolar disorders.
